Meghan Shea

Meghan Shea is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a Masters Level Drug and Alcohol Use Counselor in New Hampshire. She is native to New Hampshire and earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire. She continued her education at UNH where she entered the Advanced Standing Program and earned her Masters in Social Work.
She has worked extensively with individuals and families, both in home-based and office settings, as well as an Intensive Outpatient Program providing substance use and trauma related services. Meghan has experience working with individuals struggling with substance use, adjustment issues, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, depression and co-occurring, substance and behavioral health disorders.

In her individual and family work, Meghan utilizes the strengths based perspectives, solution focused, motivational enhancement and cognitive behavioral therapeutic interventions. She is proficient with Stages of Change treatment, matching treatment interventions with where families and individuals are regarding their ability to make and support change. In addition, Meghan is certified to work with families using the Touch Points Practice and is a qualified suicide prevention trainer.
